- discuss the concepts of social isolation and dissociation as they relate to traumatic experiences.
- explain the importance of the mother’s adaptation to the infant’s needs from the perspective of Winnicott.
- discuss the importance of the therapist allowing the unrepresented trauma to unfold in the treatment and to bear and contain the emotions involved.
