Educational Objectives:
Participants will be able to
  • describe how the analyst works to differentiate countertransference as receptivity and countertransference as resistance.
  • describe contemporary perspectives on analytic listening.
  • describe how the analyst is attentive to the ways the patient hears our interpretations.
  • describe how the analyst can provide a facilitating environment in which the experience of embodiment might begin in a patient with a history of trauma.
