Course Objectives:

  1. Conceptualize the movement from raw existential Experience, which Dr. Levine calls "Experience" with a capital E to what we refer to when we speak of our "experience," conscious or unconscious, with a small e.
  2. Appreciate the major epistemological problems with our psychoanalytic understanding and usage of the term "the unconscious."
  3. Describe Dr. Levine's notion of intuitive analytic "action," a jointly created enactment which calls attention to something nascent and begins to give form to something yet unrepresented and unknown.
