Course Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to apply knowledge acquired about the psychological challenges a gay man experiences growing up in a culture that privileges heterosexual relationships in their work with this population.
  2. Participants will be able to describe potential motivations for a gay patient who engages in risky sex.
  3. Participants will be able to recognize and describe common countertransference reactions to a patient who engages in risky sex.
