PAPPTP Fellowship Year II is the sequel to Fellowship Year I.  The program is designed to deepen participant’s understanding and practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The program features three case conference segments of six weeks each taught by a PAPPTP faculty member.  These segments will focus on beginning, conducting, and deepening a psychoanalytically oriented treatment. Issues such as assessment for therapy, making recommendations, setting the analytic frame, interpreting resistances and working with the transference and countertransference will be covered.  Students will present their own clinical cases.  Readings will be assigned that are appropriate to the subject matter being discussed and the clinical issues in the presented cases.

Two segments of two-weeks each will be intermixed with the case conference segments.  Current students and graduates of the PAPPTP program will present issues related to beginning a practice based on personal experience and provide support and guidance to early career therapists.

This program is designed for clinicians of all disciplines who are in training as well as graduate therapists who want to enhance their knowledge of psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy and to apply it to their clinical practices.  All participants must have completed the prerequisite PAPPTP Fellowship I year.

The tentative schedule is Fridays from 10:30 to 11:50 at the Stanford Psychiatry Building.
