Drs. Steven Goldberg and Catherine Mallouh will discuss Roberto Devereux by Gaetano Donizetti. This is a story filled with love and friendship, rage and betrayal, where Queen Elizabeth I holds sway over the life and death of those she holds most dear. It also represents the height of "Bel Canto" singing where beauty of sound and bravura of performance predominate.  We invite all member of SFCP to attend both the opera and the discussion or just the opera on the couch discussion.

For the opera performance, please purchase your ticket(s) at the San Francisco Opera's website.  For the post-performance discussion, these discussions are FREE and open to the public. There will be time for questions, and audience members may share their thoughts on these thought-provoking operas.
