Please meet two more PAPPTP Students

Hila Maoz-Mezer, MA
I was born and raised in Israel. I am a licensed Psychologist in Israel. My family and I moved to the bay area a few months ago. My professional background includes over 10 years of experience in various areas. In Israel, I worked as a child psychologist which involved interpersonal therapy, guidance for parents and families, as well as consulting to educational institutes. My work also included psycho-diagnostic testing. Currently, I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, and looking forward to widening my experience as a therapist, this time in a different language and culture. I am sure that participating in the PAPPTP program will enrich my knowledge in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and help me to be a better therapist and also become part of the PAPPTP community.

Nadia Mayo M.A., MFTI
While looking for a psychotherapeutic direction and reading articles online, I came across the SFCP website. I have been looking for a program such as PAPPTP for a while, where I would be able to gain hands on experience and knowledge. Most of my experience so far has been gained at training in clinics and agencies. At Height Ashbury Free Clinics, I gained experience working with issues of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, substance abuse and dual diagnosis, etc. I have also completed extensive multicultural training at African American Family Healing Center where in addition, I worked with clients on issues of cultural identity and self-esteem. I have also received training in structural family therapy at Compass Family Services. Other interests include the international political arena and global consciousness. I have received my M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Golden Gate University; M.A. in International Relations from San Francisco State University and B.A. in Psychology from San Francisco State University as well.
