Dialogues 2013 — 2014
by Henry Markham, M.D., and Julie Ruskin, Ph.D.
DIALOGUES is offering several engaging programs this academic year.
We started off on October 12, 2013, with Julie Friend, LCSW, presenting “Love as an Act of Imagination,” which described psychoanalytic work with a couple. Henry Markman, M.D., was the discussant.
On February 8, 2014, is David Rosenfeld from Buenos Aires presenting “Creation and Transformation of Body Image,” in which he will present several clinical vignettes, involving dreams and psychotic delusions, to work with body image representations. Jack Giuliani, Ph.D., will present a case and Susana Winkel, Ph.D., will be the discussant.
On March 8, 2014, Hayuta Gurevich, M.A., from Israel will present “On the Psychoanalytic Mother: Making the Absence Present,” which takes up the concept of creating a real and concrete illusion of a mothering function in analysis that provides the patient with a spontaneous and authentic experience of self. John Jemerin, M.D., will present a case and Mary Margaret McClure, D.M.H., will be the discussant.
Our last program will be on April 12, 2014, when Patrick Miller from Paris presents “The Specificity of Psychoanalytic Listening,” an exploration of how the analyst works with his or her most inner being to allow for an analytic encounter and communication with the patient’s subjectivity. Adam Goldyne, M.D., will present a case and Mitch Wilson, M.D., will be the discussant
