San Francisco Psychotherapy Forum 2013-2014
by Sheena Craig, MFT & Gary Grossman, PhD
This was another successful year for the Psychotherapy Forum in San Francisco. Although we had a significant dip in attendance for October and November, after a strong September beginning, the remaining months of the academic year all had a minimum of 10 participants with a substantial increase (24!) for April’s child case presentation.
The SFCP Psychotherapy Forums, currently presented in San Francisco, Berkeley and Palo Alto, are monthly case conferences open to students and clinicians at all levels of experience interested in improving their ability to work psychoanalytically. Each month a psychotherapist from the community presents a therapy case of particular interest or concern. A psychoanalyst is invited to each forum to discuss how they listen to the case material, fostering a lively discussion with the audience. The Psychotherapy Forums also offer a unique opportunity to network with likeminded clinicians from the community.
We would like to express our appreciation to this year’s Presenters: Romi Mann, PsyD, Nandi Hetenyl, MA, Jason Butler, PhD, Todd Troutman, PsyD, Daniella Carolla, PhD, Amy Torchia, PsyD, Sandra Salatich, PsyD, Zoe Strauss, MFTi, and Denise Renye, PsyD.
We would also like to thank and acknowledge our SFCP analyst Discussants: Helen Schoenhals Hart, MD, Neil Talkoff, PhD, Erin Mullin, PhD, Michael Donner, PhD, Christopher Wallis, MD, Catherine Mallouh, MD, Wendy Stern, DMH, Era Loewenstein, PhD, and Michael Wagner, PhD.
