The Coalition for Clinical Social Work is committed to psychodynamic thinking about the practice of social work across diverse settings. Our dedication to social justice is at the heart of our organization and informs all CCSW programs & education. Consultation Groups

The Coalition for Clinical Social Work (CCSW) offers a series of consultation groups aimed primarily toward social workers practicing in agency-based settings. The groups are offered free of charge to all social workers who are looking for a place to discuss the myriad issues related to client work, self-care, agency dynamics, and psychodynamic case formulation.

Now Accepting New Members

The consultation groups will meet on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 pm at San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis (SFCP) located at 444 Natoma Street, San Francisco.  These groups consists of 2 segments of 6 weekly meetings.  Each group is limited to 8 participants so individuals can develop a sense of belonging and community with each other. Participants are requested to sign up for only one group.  Members from one group will be welcome to continue with the next 6-week segment providing there is space. At the beginning of each series, the group will determine its focus for the 6 sessions. 

Previous topics have included:

  • Vicarious traumatization
  • Relational social work
  • Psychodynamic case formulation

Groups are facilitated by a senior social worker who is happy to share their experiences and expertise, and is committed to helping social workers develop their clinical skills so that they can not only survive but thrive in their practices.

The Coalition for Clinical Social Work (CCSW) offers an ongoing consultation group aimed primarily toward social workers practicing in agency-based settings. The group is offered free of charge to all social workers who are looking for a place to discuss the myriad issues related to client work, self-care, agency dynamics, and psychodynamic case formulation.

The consultation group will meet on the first Tuesday of the month from 7:30-9pm at 2127 Ashby Ave Berkeley CA.

  • Psychodynamic case formulation

The group is facilitated by Mary Diaso Rudy, LCSW who is happy to share her experience and expertise, and is committed to helping social workers develop their clinical skills so that they can not only survive but thrive in their practices.
