Join us for a romantic comedy drama that creates a fairytale world of loss and redemption.  "Moonrise Kingdom" tells the story of a 12 year old orphan boy who runs away from a summer camp to connect with an equally disconnected girl.  He knows she understands him as no one else can.  This epic tale explores the tangled world of adults and how a discarded foster child risks love and connection on his own terms.  The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and a Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

Reyna Cowan is a psychoanalyst and child therapist.  She is a graduate of PINC and faculty at SFCP and the film critic for KPFA Radio.
